Jungkook lay sprawled on his bed, staring up at the ceiling with a giddy smile plastered on his face. He had finally settled on a casual outfit-a simple white tee and a pair of jeans that fit him perfectly.
He'd been agonizing over what to wear for what felt like hours, but in the end, he decided that his little one, his Y/n, would prefer something simple. She never was a fan of those heavy suits he sometimes wore, the ones that made him look like a mini-adult.
No, she liked him just the way he was-casual, comfortable, and free.
His mind wandered dreamily to tomorrow, when he'd take her to the new mall that had been built in Busan. He could hardly contain his excitement. He'd planned everything so carefully, keeping it a secret that the mall was built just for her.
He imagined the look on her face when he finally asked her to be his girlfriend. His cheeks flushed pink just thinking about it. He was going to be her boyfriend, and she was going to be his girlfriend.
It was like a scene straight out of one of those romantic movies he'd seen, where the hero and heroine end up together, living happily ever after.
Jungkook was so lost in his thoughts that he didn't even notice how late it had gotten. It wasn't until he glanced at the clock on his nightstand and saw that it was almost 11:30 p.m. that he realized he hadn't reminded Y/n to be ready for their big day.
Panic gripped him for a moment, and he bolted upright in bed.
What if she wasn't ready?
What if she didn't wake up on time?
No, that wouldn't do. He had to make sure everything went perfectly.
Without wasting another second, Jungkook called in one of the maids who had been lingering outside his room, waiting for his next command.
She entered hesitantly, her eyes wide with apprehension. She'd been on the receiving end of Jungkook's demands before, and she knew better than to argue with him, but she couldn't help but hope he wasn't planning another late-night escapade.
"You called for me, young master?" the maid asked, her voice trembling slightly.
Jungkook nodded, his expression serious. "I need you to take me to Y/n's room. Sneakily. Like we've done before."
The maid's heart sank. She had hoped he would have grown out of this by now, but it seemed the little master's whims were as strong as ever.
"Young master, it's very late," she began, trying to sound as reasonable as possible. "Maybe it would be better to wait until morning-"
Jungkook shot her a look so cold that it sent a shiver down her spine. His eyes, usually so bright and full of life, were now hard and unyielding. "I said take me there. Now."
The maid swallowed hard, knowing she had no choice. Defying him was out of the question. "Yes, young master," she whispered, her voice barely audible.
She led him down the dimly lit hallways of the mansion, careful not to make a sound. The weight of her fear pressed down on her with every step, but she didn't dare look back at the boy who followed her so closely, his determination palpable.
When they reached Y/n's room, the maid opened the window as quietly as she could, motioning for Jungkook to climb through. She lingered just outside, hiding behind a bush, as she always did when the young master was up to one of his nighttime tricks.
Jungkook slipped into the room with practiced ease, his movements stealthy and silent. He made his way over to Y/n's bed, a mischievous grin tugging at the corners of his lips.
But when he lifted the sheet, his grin faded. She wasn't there. His heart sank, and he pouted, feeling a pang of disappointment. Where could she be?
Determined not to leave without seeing her, Jungkook tiptoed out of the bedroom, his eyes scanning the darkened hallway.
He moved quietly, his bare feet barely making a sound on the polished floors. As he approached the kitchen, he heard a soft rustling sound, followed by the unmistakable crunch of someone biting into a cookie.
A smile spread across his face as he peeked around the corner and saw her sitting at the kitchen counter, a big cookie jar in her lap, happily munching away.
She looked so innocent, so content, like a little squirrel hoarding her treats. Jungkook felt a rush of affection wash over him.
She was adorable.
Unable to resist, he tiptoed up behind her and suddenly jumped out, shouting, "BOO!"
Y/n let out a startled yelp, nearly dropping the cookie jar. She spun around, eyes wide with fear, only to find Jungkook standing there, grinning from ear to ear.
Her fear quickly turned to annoyance as she realized she'd been tricked.
"Jungkook!" she hissed, narrowing her eyes at him. "You scared me! I thought you were my mom!"
Jungkook burst into laughter, clutching his sides as he doubled over. "You should've seen your face!" he wheezed, his laughter echoing through the kitchen.
Y/n's annoyance grew, and she reached out to pull his hair in retaliation. "Ow! Ow! Ow!" Jungkook yelped, his hands flying to his head as he tried to protect himself. "Let go!"
"Not until you say sorry!" she demanded, tugging harder.
"Okay, okay! I'm sorry!" Jungkook blurted out, his voice filled with mock pain. "I'm sorry!"
Y/n finally released his hair, crossing her arms over her chest as she huffed at him. Jungkook rubbed his scalp, pouting at her, but she just glared back, unimpressed.
"Fine," he muttered, sticking his tongue out at her in a childish act of defiance.
Y/n rolled her eyes, but she couldn't stay mad at him for long. "You better be sorry," she said, still trying to sound stern, though a smile was tugging at her lips.
To make it up to her, Jungkook dropped to the floor and began doing sit-ups, counting out loud as he went. "One, two, three..."
He grinned up at her, hoping to win her over with his antics. It was a tradition of theirs, something he'd started years ago when he first realized that doing sit-ups was a surefire way to get back on her good side.
Y/n watched him, trying to maintain her stern expression, but she couldn't help the giggle that escaped her lips as he exaggerated each movement, groaning dramatically as if he were an old man struggling with his exercises.
By the time he reached the seventh sit-up, his knee was cracking, or at least he was pretending it was, and she couldn't take it anymore.
"Alright, alright, stop!" she said, scooting over on the counter to make space for him. "You're going to break yourself in half."
Jungkook grinned triumphantly as he got up from the floor and joined her at the counter.
She handed him the cookie jar, and he happily took a cookie, munching on it as they sat side by side.
"Thanks," he mumbled through a mouthful of cookie. "These are really good."
Y/n smiled, leaning back against the counter. "Mom baked them earlier today. I snuck down to get some before bed."
"Good call," Jungkook said, nodding in approval. He took another bite and then nudged her with his elbow. "So, you know that bad teacher we have? Mrs. Lee?"
Y/n groaned, rolling her eyes. "Ugh, don't even get me started on her. She's the worst!"
"I know, right?" Jungkook agreed, his voice rising with indignation. "She always picks on me for no reason! Like, why does she care if I'm late to class? It's not like I'm missing anything important."
"She's just jealous," Y/n said matter-of-factly, grabbing another cookie. "She knows you're smarter than her."
Jungkook smirked, pleased with her assessment. "Exactly! She's just bitter because I can do all the math problems in my head."
"Yeah, and because you're rich," Y/n added, with a teasing grin.
Jungkook shrugged. "That too."
They laughed together, the sound filling the quiet kitchen as they shared their late-night snack.
For a moment, it was just the two of them, lost in their own little world where nothing else mattered.
But then, as the conversation began to drift, Jungkook's thoughts returned to the big day ahead.
"Hey," he said, nudging her again. "What are you doing tomorrow after school?"
Y/n looked at him curiously. "Um, I don't know. Probably just going home. Why?"
Jungkook's eyes sparkled with excitement. "Nope, you're not going home. We're going to the new mall."
Y/n blinked in surprise. "How? We have to go back home right after school ends."
Jungkook shook his head, a mischievous grin spreading across his face. "Not if I have anything to say about it. I blackmailed my butler into taking us to the mall."
Y/n's jaw dropped. "What? How did you do that?"
Jungkook leaned in closer, lowering his voice as if sharing a secret. "Remember that wine bottle my butler accidentally broke? The one that belonged to my mom?"
"Yeah?", she responded rather skeptically.
"Well, I got him to take us to the mall. If he doesn't, I'll tell momma about her favourite bottle of wine, now broken."
"You're smart in these things, kookie.", she chuckles.
"And what about the school bus?" Y/n asked, her brow furrowing as she tried to figure out how they'd escape the usual routine.
Jungkook's smirk deepened, and with a flourish, he pulled a folded piece of paper from his back pocket. He waved it in front of her, enjoying the suspense before finally handing it over.
Y/n unfolded the paper and read it, her eyes growing even wider as she realized what it was. "A permission slip? From your mom?" she asked in disbelief, looking up at him. "How did you get her to sign this?"
Jungkook chuckled, crossing his arms over his chest in a self-satisfied manner. "She didn't," he said, his voice low and conspiratorial. "I copied her signature."
Y/n's mouth fell open in shock, and she looked back at the paper, then at him. "You forged your mom's signature? Jungkook, that's-"
"Genius?" he supplied, grinning at her. "Yeah, I know."
"No!" she whispered loudly, her eyes darting around as if someone might overhear them. "That's bad! What if you get caught?"
Jungkook shrugged, unfazed. "They won't catch me. Everyone at school is too scared to say anything. Besides, I've done this before, and it's never been a problem."
Y/n shook her head, a mix of awe and exasperation in her expression. "You're unbelievable."
"Thank you," Jungkook said, giving her a mock bow. "I'll take that as a compliment."
Despite her reservations, Y/n couldn't help but smile at his audacity. There was something undeniably exciting about the whole thing, and the thought of skipping the usual school routine to hang out with Jungkook at the new mall was too tempting to resist.
"Well," she said, a mischievous twinkle in her eyes as she walked over to the fridge, "if we're going to be rebels tomorrow, we should celebrate tonight."
Jungkook's curiosity piqued as he watched her rummage through the fridge. "Celebrate? How?"
Y/n pulled out two cans of cola and handed one to him, a playful grin on her face. "With a toast, of course."
Jungkook accepted the can, matching her grin. They popped open their drinks, the fizz rising to the top as they clinked their cans together. "To our secret plan," Jungkook said, raising his can.
"To sneaking out of school and having the best day ever," Y/n added, her eyes sparkling with excitement.
They both took a long sip of their drinks, savoring the moment. As they set their cans down, Y/n leaned against the counter, her gaze drifting back to Jungkook.
There was something different about him tonight-something almost...flirtatious. She couldn't quite put her finger on it, but the way he was looking at her, the way he carried himself, it was like he was trying to be cool.
And for some reason, it made her want to laugh.
"So," Y/n said, tilting her head as she regarded him with a teasing smile, "what's with the new attitude, Kook? Are you trying to flirt with me like those girls at school who are always chasing after you?"
Jungkook blinked, momentarily caught off guard by her question. "What? No, I'm not flirting," he said, his voice a little higher than usual. "Why would you think that?"
Y/n giggled, covering her mouth with her hand. "Oh, come on! You're totally trying to be all cool and smooth. You're even standing like those guys in the movies who are trying to impress the girl."
Jungkook felt his face heat up, and he quickly uncrossed his arms, trying to act nonchalant. "I'm not trying to impress anyone," he mumbled, though the pink tint on his cheeks betrayed him.
"Really?" Y/n asked, raising an eyebrow. "Not even any of those girls at school? Did you finally say yes to one of them?"
Jungkook's heart skipped a beat at the mention of other girls. He hadn't thought about them at all lately-his mind had been completely occupied with Y/n.
But now, as she teased him, he couldn't help but feel a pang of something he didn't quite understand.
It was like a strange mix of jealousy and possessiveness, even though he had no reason to feel that way. After all, Y/n wasn't his...not yet, anyway.
He shook his head, trying to keep his cool. "Nah," he said, his voice a little more confident now. "They're not as ugly as you are."
Y/n gasped in mock offense, her eyes widening. "Ugly? You think I'm ugly?"
"Duh. I need a woman uglier than you. Because if I find someone prettier and cooler than you, you'll eat my ears off about how bad her nature is because you cannot share me with anyone else, specially not someone beautiful.", Jungkook stuck his tongue out.
"So I'm ugly is what you're saying?", she blinked her eyes.
Jungkook realised that his attempt of flirting with her turned into a roast.
Oh god! His habit of roasting everyone around is now showing up on his little one too!
No, no, no, no, no!
He hadn't meant it like that-he was just trying to be playful, but it didn't land the way he wanted. "I didn't mean it like that!" he quickly said, his hands waving in the air as if trying to erase his words. "I just meant...you know...in a funny way."
Y/n pursed her lips, giving him a skeptical look. "Uh-huh. Sure, Kook."
"I'm serious!" Jungkook insisted, feeling increasingly flustered. "I didn't mean to-"
Y/n let out a dramatic sigh and shook her head, her expression suddenly turning thoughtful. "Well, I guess I'll just have to forgive you," she said, her voice filled with exaggerated sadness.
Jungkook breathed a sigh of relief, thinking he was off the hook. "Yeah, you know I didn't mean it, right?"
Y/n nodded slowly, her eyes narrowing as if she were contemplating something. "Yeah...but you know what would make me feel better?"
Jungkook leaned in, eager to make it up to her. "Anything! Just name it."
Y/n's lips curled into a sly smile as she glanced toward the freezer. "I have some Dairy Milk chocolates in the freezer. Want some?"
Jungkook's eyes lit up at the mention of chocolate. "Yes, please!" he said, practically bouncing on his feet. "I love Dairy Milk!"
Y/n's smile grew as she turned to the freezer, opening it and reaching inside. Jungkook watched her closely, noticing the way she seemed to be searching for something.
After a moment, she pulled her hands out, but instead of showing him the chocolates, she quickly hid her hands inside the sleeves of her sweater.
Jungkook tilted his head, confused. "Where's the chocolate?"
Y/n bit her lip, her eyes twinkling with mischief. "It's right here," she said, her voice soft and almost seductive as she slowly approached him.
Jungkook's heart skipped a beat as she moved closer, her hands still hidden in her sleeves.
His mind raced, trying to figure out what she was up to, but all coherent thought seemed to fly out the window as she wrapped her arms around his neck, her face inches from his.
His breath hitched in his throat, and he felt his heart start to pound in his chest.
This was it.
This was the moment he'd been dreaming of-the moment they would finally kiss.
His mind flashed to all those romantic scenes from the movies, the ones where the guy leans in and everything around them fades away. His cheeks flushed a deep red, and he swallowed hard, trying to steady his breathing.
Y/n's arms tightened around his neck, and he closed his eyes, his heart racing in anticipation. He could feel her breath on his lips, warm and sweet, and he knew that in just a second, they'd be kissing.
The thought made him dizzy with excitement. He wanted this so badly, more than anything. They were finally going to kiss, and it was going to be perfect.
But just as he leaned in, ready to close the distance between them, something cold and wet slipped down his back.
Jungkook's eyes flew open, and he let out a yelp as the icy sensation hit him full force.
He jerked away from Y/n, squirming and wriggling as the cold shock spread through his shirt.
"What the-what did you do?!" he cried, frantically trying to shake the ice out of his sweatshirt.
Y/n burst into laughter, doubling over as she watched him squirm. "Tit for tat!" she managed to say between giggles, her eyes sparkling with mischief.
"That's what you get for calling me ugly!"
Jungkook glared at her, his cheeks still flushed with a mix of embarrassment and annoyance.
"That was so mean!" he protested, still wiggling around as the last of the ice fell to the floor with a clatter. "Why would you do that?"
Y/n wiped tears of laughter from her eyes, her laughter finally starting to subside. "Because you deserved it," she said, her voice filled with playful defiance. "That's what you get for being a cheeky brat."
Jungkook huffed, crossing his arms over his chest as he tried to regain some of his dignity.
But he couldn't stay mad at her-not when she was looking at him with that mischievous grin, her eyes still bright with laughter.
"You're impossible," he laughed.
After their little ice escapade and the sweet taste of Dairy Milk on their tongues, Jungkook and Y/n finally wound down for the night.
They both sat on the kitchen floor, backs leaning against the cabinets, and Jungkook couldn't help but smile as he watched Y/n carefully unwrap another piece of chocolate, savoring each bite like it was the most precious thing in the world.
"You really love Dairy Milk, huh?" Jungkook asked, a soft chuckle escaping his lips.
Y/n nodded, her eyes sparkling with the simple joy of indulging in her favorite treat. "It's the best," she said, her voice a little dreamy. "I could eat this all day. More so because you too love it."
There was something so pure, so innocent about the way she enjoyed the little things in life, and it made him want to give her everything she could ever dream of.
As the night wore on, they both started to feel the weight of the day's excitement catching up to them.
Y/n yawned, stretching her arms above her head, and Jungkook knew it was time to say goodnight.
"I should probably head back," he said, his voice a little softer now. "But tomorrow, we're going to have so much fun. I promise."
Y/n smiled at him, her eyes half-lidded with sleepiness. "Yeah... I can't wait. Thanks for the invitation, Kook."
"Anytime," he replied, getting to his feet and offering her a hand to help her up.
She took it, and when she was on her feet, he didn't let go right away. Instead, he held her hand for a moment longer, his thumb gently brushing against her knuckles.
"Goodnight, my little one."
"Goodnight, Jungkook," she whispered, and for a moment, neither of them moved, both caught in the warmth of the moment.
As he walked away, he didn't see Y/n standing there, her fingers lightly touching the spot on her hand where his thumb had brushed against her skin, a soft smile playing on her lips.
---
[The next day]
The next day passed in a blur. School was nothing but a dull hum in the background as both Jungkook and Y/n were too excited about their plans to focus on anything else.
The moment the final bell rang, signaling the end of the school day, Jungkook was out the door, heading straight for his usual pick-up spot where his Audi waited.
"Ready to go?" he asked, his voice a little breathless from the adrenaline coursing through his veins.
Y/n nodded, but before she could reach for the car door, Jungkook beat her to it.
He quickly moved around to the passenger side and pulled the door open for her, bowing slightly in a mock -gentlemanly fashion.
Y/n let out a soft giggle, her heart fluttering at the gesture. "What a gentleman," she teased, but her smile was genuine as she climbed into the car.
Jungkook flashed her a grin before closing the door behind her and jogging around to the other side. Once they were both settled in, he turned to her, his excitement bubbling over. "You're going to love this place, Y/n. Trust me."
With that, the driver started the engine, and they were off.
The drive to the mall didn't take long, but for Y/n, every second felt like a build-up to something magical. She stared out the window, her heart racing as they neared their destination.
When they finally pulled up to the mall, Y/n's eyes widened in disbelief. The place was enormous, far bigger than anything she had ever imagined. It towered above them, a sprawling complex of glass and steel, glistening in the afternoon sun.
"This... this is amazing!" Y/n gasped, her eyes glued to the building as they parked.
She barely waited for Jungkook to turn off the engine before she was out of the car, bouncing on her toes with excitement.
"I've never seen anything like this before! It's like something out of a magazine!"
Jungkook got out as well, chuckling at her reaction. He leaned against the car, watching her with a fond smile as she continued to gush about the mall, her words tumbling out in a happy, breathless stream.
"It's so big! And look at all the shops! We're going to have so much fun, Jungkook! I can't believe we're really here!" Y/n's excitement was contagious, and Jungkook found himself getting caught up in her enthusiasm.
For a moment, he just stood there, staring at her, his heart swelling with something warm and tender. He didn't say anything, just watched her, letting the sound of her voice wash over him like a soothing melody.
It wasn't until Y/n finally noticed his gaze that she stopped talking, her cheeks flushing with embarrassment. "What?" she asked, her voice a little shy now as she looked down at her feet.
Jungkook's smile softened, and before he could stop himself, he leaned down and pressed a quick, gentle kiss to her cheek.
Y/n's eyes widened in surprise, her hand instinctively going to the spot where his lips had brushed against her skin. Her heart was pounding in her chest, and she felt like she might melt on the spot.
Jungkook straightened up, a sheepish smile on his face as he opened the car door for her again.
"Come on, let's go inside," he said, trying to play it cool even though his own heart was racing. "We've got a lot to see."
Y/n nodded, still a little dazed, and let him help her out of the car. As they walked toward the entrance, she couldn't stop herself from glancing over at him, her cheeks still tinged with pink.
Behind them, the driver waited in the Audi, and a security bodyguard followed them closely as they entered the mall.
The mall was even more incredible inside. It was like a world of its own, with towering glass ceilings that let in streams of sunlight, wide marble floors that gleamed underfoot, and endless rows of shops filled with every imaginable luxury.
Y/n's eyes were wide with wonder as she took it all in, her excitement bubbling over once again. She couldn't stop talking, pointing out every little detail, every shop, every display that caught her eye.
And all the while, Jungkook walked beside her, his heart swelling with happiness as he listened to her. Her joy was infectious, and he found himself smiling so much that his cheeks began to hurt.
After about seven minutes of walking around, they found themselves on the ground floor, standing in front of a beautiful fountain that sparkled in the sunlight.
Y/n was still talking, her voice full of awe as she admired the fountain, but Jungkook wasn't listening anymore.
His mind was somewhere else, his heart pounding as he reached for the necklace around his neck.
There, hanging from the delicate chain, was a ring-a half-broken ring that he had kept with him for as long as he could remember. It wasn't just any ring, though.
It was special.
It was precious.
It was a symbol of his family, of the father he barely remembered, and the life he had left behind in London.
The ring was one half of a pair-a couple's ring. His had a crescent moon, and the other half, the one he didn't have, had the other half of the sun. Together, they made a whole, a perfect balance of light and dark, day and night.
Jungkook had always felt a deep connection to the moon, perhaps because it was the one thing that had always been constant in his life, no matter where he was.
And now, standing here with Y/n, he realized that she was like the moon for him-serene, beautiful, always there to light up his darkest moments.
Without thinking, Jungkook pulled the ring from the necklace, holding it tightly in his hand. His heart was pounding in his chest as he turned to Y/n, who was still chattering away, completely unaware of what he was about to do.
He reached out, gently taking her hand in his. "Y/n," he began, his voice trembling slightly with emotion. "There's something I need to tell you-"
But before he could say another word, a sudden commotion behind him made him stop. He turned around, and his heart sank when he saw a convoy of guards approaching, their faces stern and unyielding.
Jungkook recognized them immediately. They were his grandmother's guards. The realization hit him like a punch to the gut, and his heart began to race with a mixture of fear and anger.
"What are you doing here?" Jungkook demanded, his voice sharp as he stepped in front of Y/n protectively.
"You're ruining everything! Go away!"
But the guards didn't back down. The one in charge stepped forward, his expression cold and unyielding. "We've been ordered to take you back to London," he said, his tone leaving no room for argument.
Jungkook scoffed, his confidence unwavering. "You can't take me back. I'm your master, and I say I'm not going anywhere."
He crossed his arms, expecting them to back down, just as everyone else always did when he gave an order.
But the guards remained steadfast, their expressions unchanging. "We're authorized to follow your grandmother's orders, not yours," the leader replied, his voice firm.
Jungkook felt a flicker of uncertainty in his chest, but he quickly pushed it aside. He wasn't used to being defied, and the feeling was foreign and infuriating.
"I'm telling you, I'm not going back," he repeated, his voice growing louder, more desperate. "This is my life, and I'll do what I want!"
One of the guards, a burly man with a no-nonsense demeanor, stepped closer to Jungkook, his hand outstretched as if to guide him away.
"Master Jungkook, please come with us," he said, his voice a little softer, but still resolute. "We don't want to cause a scene."
But Jungkook wasn't about to be swayed. He took a step back, his heart pounding as he realized that they weren't going to listen to him.
They were here to take him away, and there was nothing he could say to stop them.
"No!" he shouted, his voice cracking with a mixture of anger and fear. He tried to walk away, but the guards quickly formed a human chain around him, blocking his path.
The feeling of being surrounded, trapped, was overwhelming, and for the first time in his life, Jungkook felt truly powerless.
One of the guards grabbed his arm, trying to pull him toward the exit. Panic surged through Jungkook's veins, and he began to thrash against the guard's grip, his voice rising in desperation.
"Let me go! I'm not leaving! I won't go back to London! You can't make me!"
But the guards didn't relent. Their grip on him tightened as they began to escort him toward the car waiting outside.
Jungkook struggled against them with all his might, but it was no use. He was outnumbered, and his strength was no match for the well-trained men surrounding him.
Out of the corner of his eye, Jungkook caught a glimpse of Y/n. She was being led toward the Audi, her small frame dwarfed by the towering guard beside her. The sight of her being taken away sent a jolt of fear and anger through him.
This wasn't how it was supposed to happen.
He was supposed to protect her, to be there for her, but now he was being dragged away, helpless to stop it.
Just as the despair began to take hold, something incredible happened. Y/n, who had always been so sweet and gentle, suddenly turned fierce.
She bit down hard on the hand of the guard holding her, causing him to yelp in surprise and loosen his grip.
In an instant, she was free, and she bolted toward Jungkook, her eyes wide with fear and determination.
"Little one!" Jungkook shouted, his heart soaring with a mixture of pride and relief. If she was fighting, then so would he.
Without thinking, he mimicked her actions, sinking his teeth into the hand of the guard holding him.
The guard let out a grunt of pain, and Jungkook took the opportunity to break free, running toward Y/n as fast as he could.
The moment he reached her, she flung herself into his arms, her small body trembling with sobs.
"Don't go, Kook," she cried, her voice breaking with emotion. "Please don't leave me!"
Her words, so raw and innocent, pierced through Jungkook's heart like a knife. He wrapped his arms around her, holding her as tightly as he could, as if he could somehow protect her from the world, from the cruel reality that was closing in on them.
"I don't want to leave, Y/n," he whispered, his voice choked with emotion. "But they're making me. I can't stop them."
Y/n shook her head, her sobs growing louder. "No, you can't go! I need you! Please, Kook, don't go!"
Jungkook felt a surge of anger and helplessness wash over him. Nobody had ever dared to go against him like this, to force him into something he didn't want.
But here he was, powerless against the very people who were supposed to be his protectors, his servants. His own men had turned against him, and there was nothing he could do to stop them.
As the guards began to close in on them once more, Jungkook knew he had to act quickly.
He couldn't leave Y/n like this, not without something to hold onto, something to remind her that he would come back, no matter what.
With trembling hands, he reached for the necklace around his neck, pulling the ring from its chain.
He took Y/n's small hand in his, his heart pounding as he slid the ring onto her third finger.
The weight of the moment, of what he was doing, settled over him like a heavy blanket, but he didn't hesitate.
"Wait for me, my Moon," Jungkook said, his voice filled with a mixture of determination and sorrow. "I will come back to you, I promise."
He pressed a gentle kiss to her forehead, the feel of her soft skin against his lips burning into his memory.
But before he could say anything more, the guards were upon them, pulling them apart with a force that felt like it was tearing his heart in two.
Y/n clung to him, her fingers digging into his shirt as she sobbed, but the guards were relentless.
"No! Don't take him!" Y/n screamed, her voice raw with desperation. Her small hands reached out for him, but they were quickly overpowered by the guards, who began to drag her away.
"Y/n!" Jungkook yelled, his voice breaking as he struggled against the guards holding him.
But it was no use.
They were too strong, and despite his best efforts, he was being pulled farther and farther away from the one person he cared about more than anything in the world.
As they were forced apart, their fingers intertwined, holding on for as long as they could.
Jungkook felt the moon ring on his finger, the one thing that connected them now, and a single tear rolled down his cheek, falling onto their joined hands.
"Please, Kook," Y/n sobbed, her voice breaking as she was dragged away. "I need you... I'll wait for you, I promise..."
Jungkook's heart shattered at her words, and he screamed her name, but his voice was drowned out by the chaos around them.
The guards were relentless, their grip like iron as they pried them apart, and soon, their fingers began to slip, their grip loosening despite their best efforts to hold on.
"Little One! I'm yours, I'll come back to you, I promise!" Jungkook yelled, his voice hoarse with emotion as he watched her being taken away.
But it was too late.
Their hands slipped apart, and the connection between them was severed.
Jungkook felt a cold, empty void where her warmth had been, and the pain of it was almost too much to bear.
The last thing he saw before being shoved into the car was Y/n's tear-streaked face, her eyes filled with fear and longing as she reached out for him one last time.
And then, the door slammed shut, and she was gone.
Jungkook slumped in the backseat of the car, his heart heavy with a grief he had never known before.
The ring on his finger was the only thing left of her, the only reminder that this wasn't the end.
He would come back to her, no matter what it took.
As the car pulled away, speeding toward the airport and the unknown future that awaited him, Jungkook vowed to himself that this wasn't over.
He would find a way back to her, back to the one person who had given him hope, who had shown him what it meant to care about someone other than himself.
And when he did, he would make sure that nothing ever tore them apart again.
